It is 2:30 on Sunday afternoon. The Old Man and The Wife got up a little earlier than usual to go in to Sunday School and Church. He enjoys the Sunday School Class. It is made up of people about his age who have strong opinions and are not hesitant about expressing them. The Old Man enjoys listening to the discussion, but never participates in it. He doesn’t feel good about expressing himself verbally.

The Church Service, as always, is the musical high point of his week. There is a full time Choir Director, and a full time Organist. In each section of the Choir, there is at least one very fine soloist, and most, if not all of the other singers read music fluently and sing well. On this day , the Choir did an a capella anthem, and it really sounded nice in that big room.

The Old Man and his Wife stopped for lunch after the service. Because they live in the “Bible Belt”, most of the restaurants are closed on Sunday. The one they found open was very crowded, and it was almost an hour before they were served.
